Keeping The Lights On - 2021 Week 5
13 February 2021
Hello all,
I have to start by taking a moment to thank our departing trustee and Secretary, Jo Osborn, who has donated her time and experience to the Abbey Physic Community Garden for several years, serving on the board of trustees. Jo helped to organise and record and participated in the trustee meetings which oversee the running and ongoing funding of the charity, and it's my pleasure to thank her for her contributions on behalf of all of the members, friends, and staff of the garden.
The garden is now in need of someone to fill Jo's sizeable shoes - could you be that person? You can find out more about our trustees by clicking here, and you can follow this link, or scroll down to the featured items below to find out more about the position and how to register your interest in applying for this essential role in supporting the continued work of the Abbey Physic Community Garden - thank you.
In case you hadn't noticed, there was a bit of snow about this week, so of course we took a few pictures of the garden looking rather lovely in a fine white winter coat:
In other news, we have now had several responses to our request for poems from everyone out there in lockdown land, please click here to find out more. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

Next Wednesday, 17th February is international 'Random Acts of Kindness Day'. Please click on the image to visit the official website, which includes suggestions for lots of thoughtful ways we can all bring a bit of kindness to each other and to ourselves this week.
With all of us under a blanket of snow this past week, Lissie's latest relaxation and sing-along video extolls the virtues of letting yourself retreat into the comfort and safety of your own blankets and getting some restorative sleep. Please click on the image to watch on YouTube.
Groundwork at the garden was necessarily put on hold this week, the ground being rather hard to find under a foot of snow. Please click on the image to watch a clip of what we found coming to the garden in the morning after the heaviest of the snow had fallen.
Best wishes to all - The Abbey Physic Community Garden Team
