Keeping The Lights On - 2021 Week 4
6 February 2021
It's always a nice compliment when someone comes in to the garden and lets us know how much has changed since they last saw it, even within months or weeks. This past week has been no exception, as we took advantage of the benign winter weather to get some groundwork done - please scroll down to the features to see more.
Tickets will soon be going on sale for the new 'Faversham and District Community Lottery', a fundraising initiative from Faversham Town Council to support local groups, including the Abbey Physic Community Garden, with cash prizes to be won every week. You can find out more at their website, Facebook and Twitter pages - look out for the announcements on social media for when ticket sales go live.
There is no need to have attended the first two sessions of our Meditation and Mindfulness sessions, running on Thursdays at 4pm, so you'd be very welcome to join in this week - Zoom id: 815 4607 9904 passcode: 198759
If the Met Office is to be trusted you will be reading this from underneath a blanket of snow, so hopefully everyone is able to keep safe and warm at home this week. If you are having any difficulties during lockdown, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at the garden by emailing email@example.com, or calling 01795 539915.
The Faversham Community Kitchen's weekly live online cook-a-longs have been gathering new members throughout their celebration of 'veganuary'. Pictured below are just a few of the delicious dishes that members and friends of the garden prepared last month, cooking along with Alex and Karen on Zoom.
Recipes for each week are posted on our Facebook page, with sessions for members at 11am Fridays, and for friends and families at 3pm Fridays. Zoom meeting ID: 675 702 0894, password: apcg
'Get Gardening' during lockdown - following on from last week's treatise on the virtues of manure, Paul adds another layer to his argument by introducing the concept of 'lasagne gardening'. Please click on the image to watch on YouTube.
Best wishes for a warm week! - The Abbey Physic Community Garden Team
