Keeping The Lights On - 2021 Week 3

30 January 2021

Dear Members and Friends,

We've been dodging between the raindrops this week, continuing work on the moon garden, which is coming along nicely; and I've begun a pet project to spruce up the raspberry patch with new supports. In the online community we've also had some really successful and rewarding Zoom-ing going on, with more new faces joining the weekly cooking sessions, and record numbers attending the first 'Gardening For The Mind' meditation and mindful journalling session last Thursday - and new attendees are always welcome.

To join in one of our online sessions this week, details are as follows:

  • Wednesday, 3rd February, 11am - members' catch up and chat - zoom id: 675 702 0894 passcode: apcg
  • Thursday, 4th February, 4pm - meditation and mindful journalling - zoom id: 815 4607 9904 passcode: 198759
  • Friday, 5th February, 11am (members) and 3pm (families and friends) - cooking with the Faversham Community Kitchen - zoom id: 675 702 0894 passcode: apcg

Poetry Please

An enterprising member of the Abbey Physic Community Garden this week has begun a project to tap into the creative energies of everyone out there in lockdown. Please click on the image to find out how you can contribute a little lyricism to the garden - thank you.

2020 in Hindsight

Continuing the new series of video clips on our YouTube channel, looking back at some of what happened at the garden in 2020. Please click on the image of the devilishly handsome fellow in glasses to see how we made some seriously spicy sauces from our home-grown superhot chillies.

What Goes Around

Thank you for writing the pun for me this week Lissie. Their latest tuneful round is on the theme of what goes around, and comes around again. Please click on the image to watch (and join in) on YouTube.

Get Gardening

Where there's muck there's brass, or at least brassicas. Paul shows you some of the benefits of applying a healthy quantity of 'organic matter' to your soil at this time of year. Please click on the horse to watch the latest edition of 'Get Gardening' on YouTube.

Wishing everyone good health - The Abbey Physic Community Garden Team
